HEKAS is one of the few family-run cuckoo clock manufacturers for generations. In now more than 83 years, all kinds of cuckoo clocks - from souvenir to high-quality and exclusive - are handmade in Schonach. The production of the cases and the blanks for the carving are made in our own carpenter's workshop, which guarantees the hundred percent Black Forest workmanship. The mechanical movement of a cuckoo clock is the heart of a genuine Black Forest clock. The promotional association "Verein die Schwrzwalduhr (VDS)" awards the seal only to the clocks driven by the mechanical movement. This VDS seal marks the distinctive clocks from the Trieberg region and is the most important sign of genuine quality. The designation - original Black Forest clock - may bear only the clocks with the recognition of VDS.
